The new agrarian reform law has now been challenged by the Congress party in the Supreme Court. It states that new agrarian reform laws violate the fundamental rights of farmers. And this new agrarian reform law is not in the interest of farmers.
According to the petition in the Supreme Court imposed by the Congress party, the new agricultural reform law will make the farmers slaves of the local authorities. And they have to run after them. The petition alleged that no special court for agriculture has been set up by the new Agrarian Reform Act. This violates the fundamental rights of farmers. The petition states that when there is a dispute between the company and the farmer, farmers cannot go to court, this is a violation of their fundamental rights.
The Congress party has petitioned the Supreme Court regarding the new Agricultural Marketing and Price Promotion Act 2020. The petition has been filed by Congress party MP T Pratap Narayan, who is currently an MP from Tamil Nadu from the Congress party.
Let us tell you for information that farmers and opposition are strongly opposing the new agrarian reform laws. Haryana and Punjab are the most opposed to the new agrarian reform law. Apart from this, former Congress Party President Rahul Gandhi has termed the new agrarian reform law as a black law. Rahul Gandhi has told the agricultural reform laws even till the death warrant for the farmers. Congress Party General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi has also opposed the agrarian reform laws. Here the opposition alleges that the rules have not been followed to pass the Agrarian Reform Act in Rajya Sabha. The opposition alleges that we had demanded voting in Rajya Sabha which was not accepted. The opposition alleges that the government did not have a majority in the Rajya Sabha. The new agrarian reform law is thus illegal.
